Rachel is a London-based Music Therapist and graduated from the University of Roehampton with an MA in Music Therapy. As a keen flautist and pianist, Rachel also holds a BA in Music and an MA in Music Performance.
Rachel has over 11 years' experience of working with children, young people and young adults as a youth band leader in Surrey. In addition to musical coaching, Rachel has always aimed to include a focus on emotional wellbeing, peer-relationship building and team building in band sessions. Rachel has had the pleasure of getting to know the band members through music, including those with special educational needs, autism and acquired brain injury.
Rachel’s passion for using music to support young people with a diverse range of needs and interests led to her decision to train as a Music Therapist. Rachel has since worked therapeutically with children with learning disabilities, ASD, selective mutism and developmental delays, and adults with psychiatric disorders.
Rachel enjoys finding creative ways to make connections with those she works with and adopts a flexible approach to meet her clients musically. Rachel believes that everyone is musical, and that music can richly enhance life.
